Goals
-Provide a Place of Contact for Linux Users at Winthrop and in
the Rock Hill Area
-Provide help to each other and others with Linux Stuff
-Linux Advocacy
Immediate Agenda:
-Establish contact with the Charlotte Linux Users Group(Attend CharLUG meeting on 2/10)
-Put two or three Linux workstations in ACC 108
-Put out some flyers for non-CSCI majors
Projects:
-Establish a working raltionship with the Charlotte Linux Users Group
-Establish a working raltionship with ACM
-Provide Winthrop Specific HOWTOs
-Design a Linux Brochure for Winthrop or CSCI students?
-Do a Winthrop specific distro?
-Set up a WinULUG CVS server for projects
-Set up a IRC chat server for support
-(long term)Get somekind of linux workstations in the labs or start
a linux lab, or something.
General Activities:
-Seminars on Linux and related Stuff
-Speakers
-Presentations by Members at Meetings
-Install Fests
-Petitions
-Trips (such as to the ALS)
Fund Raising:
-hopefully no dues
-possibly do network card and setup for winthrp students
-Possibly attempt to form business ties with Rock Hill Computers, etc...
-Rafill for computer parts, books, etc...
-Establish a used book buyback/selling thing
-Possibly work with ACM on fundraising
